This course is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge to correctly install signs at road works, apply worker safety, and maintain smooth traffic flow.

Course Outcomes

Plan and prepare
Co-ordinate traffic
Operate radio
Set out the traffic guidance scheme
Monitor traffic guidance scheme
Close down traffic guidance scheme
Clean up

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment.

The Motor Vehicle Registry (MVR) issues the NT Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM) ID cards on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure. An additional fee may apply. Please refer to the Department of Infrastructure website for more information and current fees.

WZTM ID cards are valid for three years from the date of issue of a Statement of Attainment. If your card is due to expire you can attend a Refresher course.

Classroom participation
Written and verbal assessment
Practical (live site) assessment

Duration

Two days (16 hours)

Entry requirements

English reading, writing and speaking skills
White Card
Current Australian Driver's Licence
Evidence of NT residency or information relating to current NT accommodation

If you believe you are eligible for NT Industry BuildSkills funding towards the cost of this course, you will need to apply manually by the following process:

1) Compete the course registration form

AND

2) Complete the Industry BuildSkills declaration form

4) You will receive confirmation that you meet the eligibility requirements and that your booking has been confirmed.
