RIISAM204D Operate Small Plant and Equipment
 

This course covers the accredited unit for safely operating a range of small plant and equipment which may include; quick cut saw, chainsaw, jackhammer, pressure cleaner, masonry saw, generator, compressor, brush cutter, leg rammer, mower, mulcher, compressor etc.

Small plant and equipment must include power sources and at least three other categories to include: · compaction equipment · concrete equipment · excavation equipment · maintenance equipment · water equipment · lighting equipment · lifting and materials handling equipment · traffic management equipment.

COURSE OUTCOMES
 

At completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Plan and prepare for the use of small plant and equipment
  • Conduct pre-operational checks
  • Identify and manage risks and hazards
  • Select, check and adjust fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid and water levels
  • Correct operating techniques to achieve optimum output
  • Operator maintenance
  • Correct storing techniques
  • Clearing work area
