South Australia

Civil Train SA is one of South Australia's largest private Registered Training Organisations delivering training to the Civil Construction and allied industries from our Centre of Excellence at 1 South Rd, Thebarton, and throughout regional SA.  We can travel anywhere in the State to provide industry endorsed training and assessment services to the civil construction industry.

Civil Train SA is a long-standing Member of the Industry Training Providers Association (ITPA),                                                 representing not-for-profit INDUSTRY training providers in South Australia.

In Adelaide, our state of the art simulation centre will provide you with training and assessment opportunities never before seen in the civil construction sector in Australia.

Delve into the largest suite of heavy plant simulators in Australia for:

  •          dump truck
  •          front end loader
  •          excavator
  •          M-series grader
  •          scraper
  •          dozer

Whether you are on a qualification program or you are here to do a licence, our simulators have something to offer.  If you are new to plant operation, come and develop your hand eye co-ordination and controls familiarisation before you get onto real plant at our Live Works Site.  If you are an experienced operator, come to build up your operation hours, test your skills or have a go at operating a new model of machine.   Whatever stage of your training, our virtual training simulators enable you to build experience and develop your skills at your own pace.

Further to the sixteen motion and non-motion based simulators in the Civil Train virtual simulator suite, we also have two six degree of freedom simulators which greet you as you enter our reception area;  a  Volvo Articulated Haul Truck and a Volvo Excavator.  These machines offer a higher level of fidelity (quality of being faithful to real plant) and are the perfect stepping stone for operators to elevate from the smaller simulators to real plant.

Civil Construction Virtual Worlds

How about having access to the custom built Civil Train virtual construction site and demonstrating your learning in a range of topic areas such as confined space, working at heights and work zone traffic management?

Here, you can test your knowledge in the safe environment of the virtual world and reflect upon the consequences of incorrect decision-making before you find yourself in a similar situation when at work.  These computer generated scenarios use gaming methodology in a learning environment and are particularly useful to engage learners to solve problems and develop decision-making techniques.

Live Works SIte

Our Live Works Site is located at Davison Earthmovers, 59-71 Heaslip Road, Burton.  With a range of plant available, including excavators, backhoes, skidsteers, dump trucks and rollers, you will be taught and assessed in plant operation by experienced industry operators.

At our Live Works Site, we also have facilities for practical training such as installing trench support, chainsaw training and paving projects.
