This unit covers entering and working in confined spaces in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes planning and preparing for entry of confined spaces, entry and working in confined spaces, exiting confined spaces and cleaning up. This course also covers competence associated with the operation and maintenance of breathing apparatus equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere.

Course outcomes

On completion of the course you will be able to:

  • Plan and prepare for entering and working in confined spaces
  • Enter and work in the confined space
  • Exit confined space
  • Conduct pre-donning checks and tests on breathing apparatus<
  • Operate breathing apparatus
  • Conclude operations
  • Clean up
 

If successful you will receive a Statement of Attainment and a plastic wallet card with your photograph.

  • Written/verbal assessment
  • Practical assessment
     
DURATION
  • Two days (16 hours)

Entry requirements
  • English reading, writing and speaking skills
