Incident Investigation

This course provides the skills and knowledge necessary to conduct effective incident investigation in the workplace. The course outlines the need for investigation, causes of incidents, the process of investigation and cause and effect analysis; so that incident investigation leads to effective corrective action to minimise the likelihood of the recurrence of incidents.

COURSE OUTCOMES

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the personal, business and legal reasons for investigating incidents
  • Describe the relationship between hazards and breakdown in the organisation’s WHS management systems.
  • Identify, with reference to categories of hazards, the contributory factors which are the direct cause of the incident and their means of control.
  • Use the appropriate analysis methods to determine contributory hazards, management system breakdowns and required improvements for a given accident.
 

Upon completion you will receive a Statement of Attendance.
