Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What clothing should I wear?
A: Each course has its own specific requirements however; all courses require fully enclosed shoes as the minimum. Once you are booked in for the course, the confirmation will stipulate the necessary clothing for your specific course.

Q: What time is the course?
A: All courses commence at 8am, unless advised otherwise. You’ll need to be at the training site at least 10-15 minutes prior to the course commencing. If you arrive any later than 15 minutes after the course has begun, unfortunately you won’t be allowed to attend the course and will forfeit the payment made.

Q: I have a CITB card. How much discount do I get?
A: There is no set amount for the discount as each course is different and the discount is based on what CITB provides.

Q: If I do not attend or fail a course, do I still get the CITB discount?
A: No. CITB will only subsidise the course if you pass the course. If you fail or don’t attend, you will be required to cover the full cost of the course.

Q: How do I obtain a CITB number?Can I provide the CITB number after I have registered for a course?
A: You’ll need to contact the Construction Industry Training Board [CITB] on 08 8172 9500 or visit their website www.citb.org.au. To obtain the discount, you must supply your valid CITB at the time of registration otherwise full cost applies.

Q: How do I cancel a course booking and will it cost anything to cancel?
A: To cancel a booking, please call 8111 8001. Please note that to obtain a full refund, you need to cancel at least 48 business hours prior to the course commencing.

Q: what happens if CivilTrainSA cancels a course?
A: If we cancel a course, you’ll be provided with two options – either a full refund is provided, or, reschedule to another date.

Q: what if I cannot attend but I know someone else who wishes to do the course. What can I do?
A: If you are booked in and cannot attend, someone else may replace you. They will need to be at the training centre 10-15 minutes prior to the course commencing, and will need to hold the same eligibility as you. If in doubt, please call us on 8111 8001.

Q: How long are the tickets / Statement of attainment valid for?
A: Each course’s ticket or statement of attainment has a different validity period, depending on a number of factors including state legislation, type of course etc. You will be advised at the course as to the duration of your ticket.
 

Q: How can I pay for the course?
A: We provide a number of alternatives. Acceptable payment methods are Visa, Mastercard, Cash, Cheque, eftpos from a savings/cheque account and direct credit into our account. Payment needs to be made at the time of registering for the course. Cash and eftpos from a savings/cheque account can only be accepted if registering in person at our 1 South Rd Thebarton facility.

Q: Where are training courses held?
A: Our main training centre is at 1 South Rd Thebarton. However we also conduct selected courses at the South Adelaide Football Club in Noarlunga.

Q: I would like more information on the courses. Who do I contact?
A: you can either call 8111 8001 to speak to our friendly staff, or, come in and see us at 1 South Rd Thebarton. Our office hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays.
